How to Recover Photos from a Memory Stick or Similar Media

Even if you have accidentally formatted your camera's Memory Stick or similar media device, it's possible to recover photos from it using Data Recovery Pro. First, insert the media card into your media card reader or Memory Stick slot on your computer or connect your digital camera to your computer as if you were going to transfer photos.

Next, launch Data Recovery Pro and find the drive letter associated with your storage device. In this case, it's showing up as Removable Disk (E:). Yours may show up differently.

Click the Start Scan button and allow Data Recovery Pro to scan your removable storage. A list of files will appear on your screen shortly. If you hover over the files, you will see a preview image as shown below.

To recover this photo, place a check mark in the box and click Recover.

The photo will be recovered to your Recovered Items folder.

Now, you can double-click the folder and see your fully restored photo!

The process is similar for recovering videos, music, documents, and other file types. Simply select the correct scanning tab (Quick, Advanced, or Email) and select the options that apply such as telling the scanner which drive to scan and allow Data Recovery Pro to do its work. Hover over files for a quick preview and place a check mark in any file you want to recover. Hit the Recover button and your files will be recovered to the Recovered Items folder. It's that easy!
